چکیده

Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (KCS), also known as “dry eye syndrome”, is a common ocular disease in dogs, caused by inflammation of the lacrimal gland, resulting decreased tear production. Efforts are being made to develop alternative therapies order prevent lifelong use drugs for patients with KCS. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) be effective treatment many immune-mediated diseases human and animal models due their immunoregulatory properties. The aim this study was transplant limbal mesenchymal (LMSCs) surface on contact lenses evaluate therapeutic effects LMSCs clinical examination findings. animals were randomly divided into control groups. LMSC group (n = 10) received (at least 2×106 cells) cultured lenses. conventional artificial tears, topical 0.05% Cs A, antibiotic drops, 3 times day 4 weeks. Schirmer test, break-up time, impression cytology, Rose Bengal staining, osmolarity measured all patients. findings pre-treatment, two weeks four after treatment, evaluated statistically. In both groups, significant improvement present compared pre-treatment However, there no difference between KCS using produced promising, its ease application, non-immunogenic properties single dose administration.

Sclerocorneal limbal stem cell autograft transplantation in dogs

The effects of sclerocorneal limbal stem cell autograft transplantation in dogs with corneal wounds were studied. Eighteen dogs were divided in two groups (GI and GII). The animals of GI (n=12) underwent limbal transplantation 30 days after the destruction of limbal stem cells. The dogs of GII (n=6) only underwent destruction of stem cells (control group). Light microscopy examination of the ri...

The Effect of Transplantation of Collagen Hydrogel with Adipose-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells on Burn Wound Healing in Rats

Background: Cell therapy is one of the most challenging methods in the healing of burn wounds in the world. The present study aimed to determine the effect of collagen hydrogel with adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells on burn wound healing in an animal model. Materials and Methods: The present study was experimentally performed on 24 Wistar rats. Burn wounds were created on the skin of rats...

Dry eye after haematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

AIMS To determine the incidence, natural course, and severity of dry eye occurring or worsening after haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (SCT). METHODS At a tertiary care hospital, 53 patients undergoing allogeneic or autologous SCT followed by at least 180 days of follow up were studied prospectively. Examination included grading of symptoms of dry eye, evaluation of ocular surface, te...

AIM To report the outcome of a series of patients with stem cell deficiency who underwent allo-limbal transplantation and to describe a technique for this procedure. METHODS Six consecutive patients underwent allo-limbal stem cell transplantation. The primary diagnosis included alkali burn (n = 2), trachoma (n = 1), chronic rosacea blepharitis and kerato-conjunctivitis (n = 1), aniridia (n = ...

Amniotic membrane transplantation with and without limbal stem cell transplantation in chemical eye injury.

INTRODUCTION Chemical burns of the eyes are one of the important causes of visual disability. Chemical burns particularly alkali burn may lead to gross limbal stem cell deficiency. Amniotic membrane transplantation with limbal graft is a good method for ocular surface reconstruction. CASE A 39 years male presented to Biratnagar Eye Hospital after 5 months of chemical injury with redness, pain...
